Queensland Tennis Centre
Overview
The Queensland Tennis Centre is poised for transformation in preparation for hosting tennis and wheelchair tennis events during the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The proposed upgrade will deliver a new 3,000-seat show court arena and up to 12 additional match courts, greatly expanding the centre’s capacity to build on the venue’s international reputation while enhancing the home of the National Tennis Academy.
With increased capacity and world-class facilities, the upgraded Queensland Tennis Centre will honour Queensland’s proud tennis legacy – from champions like Ash Barty, Pat Rafter and Rod Laver, to the next generation of players - while providing more opportunities for the community to participate in and enjoy the sport.

Features and benefits

Upgraded facilities and additional courts will help foster greater grassroots participation and opportunities for the next generation of Australian tennis stars who call Brisbane home.

These investments recognise Queensland's proud tennis history and will provide long-term economic, community and high-performance benefits well beyond the 2032 Games.
The enhanced venue will unlock more opportunities to attract international events, strengthening Queensland’s reputation as a global destination for sport.
GIICA will work alongside design experts and with Tennis Australia and Tennis Queensland to ensure facilities meet technical requirements and are Games-ready, setting the stage for future generations of players to thrive.
With a new 3,000-seat show court arena set to be delivered, the venue can attract larger crowds for popular national and international events, like the Brisbane International Tennis Tournament.
