About GIICA

The Games Independent Infrastructure and Coordination Authority (GIICA) will maximise the opportunity and legacy of hosting the Olympic and Paralympic Games to benefit all of Queensland.

Established in November 2024, GIICA's task is to set the stage for a transformational Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2032.

We will deliver 17 new and upgraded venues for use before, during and after the Games. These venues will be delivered within the $7.1 billion funding envelope provided by the Australian and Queensland Governments.

We’re not just focused on four weeks of sport. Our goal is to leverage this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to host the world’s biggest event to build sporting, event and community infrastructure that will set Queensland up for generations to come.

Our vision is to achieve a legacy that transcends the Games, leading our state to thrive as a globally recognised region, benefitting every community.
