Anna Meares Velodrome
Overview
Anna Meares Velodrome is a world-class indoor cycling facility and legacy venue from the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games, home to AusCycling (Queensland) and host to local, club, national and international competitions.
Featuring a thrilling 250-metre timber track and current seating for up to 3,500 spectators in event-mode, the venue already meets international competition standards and will require only minor upgrades, including temporary seating additions, to be Games-ready.
Located within the Chandler Sports Precinct alongside the Brisbane SX International BMX Centre, further improvements across the wider precinct will ensure accessibility for large Games crowds, while the Velodrome continues to deliver legacy benefits for aspiring athletes, high-performance programs, and Queensland’s cycling community.

Site improvements will be carried out throughout the Chandler Sports Precinct, providing users and visitors to Anna Meares Velodrome better accessibility throughout the precinct and improving connections between venues.
Upgrades to the velodrome will provide additional opportunities for Brisbane to host future national and international competitions, attracting visitors and further strengthening Brisbane as a global destination for sport and tourism.
The venue upgrades will be shaped and informed by expert input to ensure access to facilities meets the needs of high-performance athletes, community users, spectators and people of all abilities.
Already meeting international standards, the Velodrome requires only minor upgrades to be fully Games-ready for Olympic and Paralympic track cycling.
