Games delivery momentum is continuing to build with industry today engaged on all 17 projects being constructed by the Games Independent Infrastructure and Coordination Authority (GIICA).
GIICA today launched a portfolio-wide Registration of Interest (ROI) across its 17 new and upgraded venues, seeking responses from organisations across the design and construction sector interested in working with the Authority on delivery of its projects.
Also out to market today was an Expression of Interest (EOI) for a Delivery Partner who will support GIICA with capabilities for a broad range of program management services to assist in the delivery of the Authority venues.
The milestone announcements came as part of GIICA’s historic Industry Briefing with more than 1,500 participants, both in person and online, underlining GIICA’s desire to engage and collaborate with industry as we build towards the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Deputy Premier of Queensland and Minister for State Development, Infrastructure and Planning, Jarrod Bleijie, made the new announcements as he launched the GIICA Industry Briefing and said today’s ROI and EOI were another example of the momentum building around Games delivery.
The announcements add to the impetus created by last month’s widely applauded launch of four Expressions of Interest (EOIs) for Principal Design Consultants for new indoor sports centres at Logan and Moreton Bay, and upgrades at Sunshine Coast Stadium and Barlow Park Stadium in Cairns.
Those four EOIs closed last week and are progressing through an evaluation period.

GIICA Chairman Stephen Conry said today’s Industry Briefing and the release of the ROI and EOI represented further important steps on our path forward together as an industry.
“Momentum continues and today’s announcements are yet another sign of the acceleration to 2032,” Mr Conry said.
“No matter how you cut the numbers, the economic and social benefits of building for the Games and then hosting the event are outstanding.
“Billions of dollars in uplift will be generated across tourism and trade as well as quantifiable community benefits for all Queenslanders when our city and state are broadcast into more than 200 countries across the world.
“Then there is the exciting generational infrastructure that will serve as a legacy for many years to come.
“From a sporting perspective alone, more than 50 extra fields of play - courts, fields, pools – will be built for community or high-performance usage through the GIICA Games venue program.
“What an exciting time be part of the construction industry in Queensland," said Mr Conry.
Deputy Premier and Minister for State Development, Infrastructure and Planning, Jarrod Bleijie, said all of Queensland was behind the push to deliver a winning Games legacy.
“We’re getting on with the job of delivering a Games and a legacy that every Queenslander will be proud of for generations to come,” said Deputy Premier Bleijie.
“The 2032 Delivery Plan is in place and now all the players are stepping up to get the job done, that’s what we do as Queenslanders and why we will deliver.”

The portfolio-wide ROI released today by GIICA for all of the Authority’s 17 venues will assist in understanding industry capacity and interest across the market, as well as helping inform GIICA on packaging and staging of works ahead of the release of other EOIs into market in the future.
The ROI will close in 2 weeks and organisations can find out more and apply at giica.au/procurement from 12-noon on Friday 1 August.
The EOI for a GIICA Delivery Partner will close in 2 weeks, with GIICA aiming to have the successful applicant in place by the end of 2025. Again, interested organisations can find out more and apply at giica.au/procurement from 12-noon on Friday 1 August.
