First look at the draft vision for Victoria Park Precinct
Queenslanders can now get a first look at the draft Victoria Park Precinct Legacy Plan, which outlines a vision for one of Brisbane's most significant public spaces and future Games precinct.
Released by the Queensland Government for community consultation, the draft plan brings together Brisbane Stadium, the National Aquatic Centre, Brisbane Showgrounds upgrades, parklands and public spaces into a connected destination designed for both major events and everyday community use.
With more than two-thirds of the park remaining green and public space, the plan explores how Victoria Park will evolve into a more accessible and better-connected precinct, with new walking and cycling links, improved public transport connections, restored waterways and expanded green space.

Games Independent Infrastructure and Coordination Authority (GIICA) CEO Simon Crooks said the release of the draft plan provides the community with an opportunity to see how the new Brisbane Stadium and National Aquatic Centre fit within the wider vision for Victoria Park.
“While we’re focused on delivering the new Brisbane Stadium and National Aquatic Centre ahead of the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, we're even more focused on the legacy these venues create for Queenslanders beyond 2032,” Mr Crooks said.
“How people move to, from and around our venues is just as important as their experience once they're inside them. It's exciting to see a vision that connects these elements and focuses on creating a place people can enjoy long after the Games are over.
“From community sport and recreation, to global events and entertainment, it’s clear this plan aims to create a destination that people can enjoy every day.”
The Queensland Government is also seeking community feedback to help shape the next stage of planning.
