In short

Contractors with experience delivering major demolition, earthworks and infrastructure projects are being invited to lodge an Expression of Interest (EOI) to undertake early works for the Sunshine Coast Stadium upgrade.

The Expression of Interest process is now open until 5pm AEST, Wednesday 9 September 2026 and represents an important step towards delivering the venue upgrades required ahead of the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Successful respondents will progress through the procurement process, where submissions will be evaluated against mandatory requirements and project objectives before a preferred contractor is selected.

The scope of the early works includes the removal of existing structures within the footprint of the future stadium development, service isolation, demolition activities and earthworks across the site.

Planned upgrades include grandstands, supporting facilities and amenities.

The early design vision, developed by Principal Consultant Architectus, draws inspiration from the Sunshine Coast's natural landscape and coastal lifestyle, with concepts featuring open forms, shaded concourses and elevated seating designed to enhance the spectator experience.

Once complete, the upgraded Sunshine Coast Stadium will continue to support community sport, elite competition and major events while delivering long-term benefits through increased tourism, economic development and community participation opportunities.
