GIICA is working with our Games Delivery Partners to progress the Project Validation Report which will be provided to the Queensland and Australian Governments to support an investment decision.

The Chandler Sports Precinct, part of the Sleeman Sports Complex, was originally built for the Brisbane 1982 Commonwealth Games and has been a community use and competition venue for 40 years. The Precinct will be upgraded ahead of 2032, to include a dedicated Para Sport community facility.

The existing indoor arena facility at the precinct will be upgraded to house the new facility. Upgrades will include an accessibility overhaul to ensure community-based indoor Para sport can be supported in the lead up to and after the 2032 Games.

The Para Sport facility will provide an important legacy through increased participation in sport and physical activity for people with disability. The facility will also create high-performance pathways for Para athletes.
